At TheNewsToday.eu, we believe journalism should do more than repeat what politicians, governments and powerful organisations want us to hear. It should question them.
Our philosophy is simple: look at the facts, follow the evidence, challenge power and ask who benefits.
We believe news should be understandable and relevant to ordinary people. Behind every announcement about taxation, public spending, the NHS, housing, energy, water, pensions or the economy are real consequences for real families. Those consequences matter more to us than Westminster gossip or political point-scoring.
We are independent, but that doesn’t mean we have no opinions. Where we publish opinion, we will say so. We believe inequality deserves to be challenged, public services should work for the people who depend upon them, and governments should ultimately be judged by whether they improve the lives of the majority — not simply by whether markets, corporations or the wealthiest prosper.
We also believe disagreement is healthy. You don’t have to agree with us. We want readers to question our arguments, contribute their own views and join the debate.
Most importantly, we believe journalism should never be frightened of asking difficult questions.
Facts first. Power questioned. People matter.
